What is the difference between a pepper mill and a salt mill?

Pepper mills use a hardened, zinc-coated steel grinder with a double row of helical teeth. Salt mills use a high-resistance ceramic grinder with stainless steel and aluminium parts, so salt can't corrode them. Keep salt out of pepper mills, and never grind with an empty mill.

How do I adjust the grind?

Turn the knob on top of the mill, engraved P for pepper or S for salt. Tighten it for a finer grind and loosen it for a coarser one. Some models, like Pisa, have a separate grind selector.

Can I grind herbs and spices in a Bisetti mill?

Use a Bisetti spice mill. Its grinder is made of POM (polyoxymethylene), which doesn't absorb the natural oils that herbs and spices release, so a simple hand wash removes any residue.

What warranty comes with Bisetti mills?

Bisetti grinding mechanisms and their mechanical components carry a 10-year warranty.

Is the wood sustainably sourced?

Yes. Bisetti mills are turned in the company's own factory in Omegna, on Lake Orta in northern Italy, from wood that comes from FSC®-certified, well-managed forests.
